Senior Accounts Assistant (30k pro rata, Part Time, Remote, Immediate Start Available)
Heights Accountancy is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to join the team on a part-time basis.
This is an initial 3-month contract for 10–15 hours per week, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
If you have strong accountancy practice experience and are confident supporting small and medium-sized business clients, we’d love to hear from you.
About the role
You will support a portfolio of small and medium-sized business clients, with responsibilities including:
- Bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance
- VAT returns
- Managing client communication and queries
- Maintaining accurate, well-organised client records
- Supporting day-to-day workflow and admin tasks
This role would suit someone who enjoys being part of a small team and is confident taking ownership of client work.
What we’re looking for
You must have:
- Experience supporting small and medium-sized business clients
- Strong bookkeeping skills, including VAT, bank reconciliations, ledgers and double-entry
- Confident client communication
- Excellent accuracy and organisation
- Experience with cloud accounting software, with Xero preferred
- AAT Level 3 or Level 4
Nice to have:
- Experience working in an accountancy practice
- Experience with QuickBooks, Xero and FreeAgent, although not essential to have all three
- Experience handling multiple client files
